She
has developed into a ranchers kind! Weighing only 1425 lbs.
on Aug. 1, 2005 – her Jan. 20, 2005 bull calf weighed
over 800!! She was declared Grand Champion Red Angus Female
at the London “North
American Beef Congress’ (pictured at right). She then topped
the Angus sale with a flush from her selling to Roger of Ontario.
We sold another to Vaughn Gibbons family & we
have had requests for two more. Her bull calf was purchased by
Sebastian Stewart of Stewart Cattle Co. of Alberta at the Autumn
Colours 4, on Oct. 1, 2005
with Bar 5 retaining 1/3 Semen Interest. He will be put back
into the Bar 5 test group & come
off test Feb. 16,2006 – where he will be subjected to ultrasound & physical
tests and then sent to stud.
A
power house Feb 2003 calf, who was Swan Creek’s
lead heifer calf and their showcase heifer for Red RoundUp
2003. Yes, we are astout at Bar 5 and know a great cow family
when we see it; her dam is a full sister to Red Gold-Bar
KING V415. So, a future lead cow family for our Bar 5 AR
program, out of one of Swan Creeks foundation Cows and the
same cow family as Gold-Bar’s lead herdbull – we
thought we couldn’t leave this sweety in Alberta, we
needed one at Bar 5 in Markdale – “Ontario Red
Angus” is looking good !!!! Her calves will be three
generations of Ontario Angus Breeders – Gold Bar, swan
Creek & Bar 5 AR !!!
202N is sired by the Diamond D Make My Day 90L bull who walks
here in Ontario, and who is sired by the one and only BJR
Make MY Day bull from Boot Jack in Montana who has sired
powerhouses in Montana and other parts of the US.!!
The cows behind this female are well proven, so if
it good enough for Gold-Bar & Swan Creek – it
will work in the Bar 5 AR program.
AMY 202N is a beauty and we invite you to stop by and have
a look.
